The Role of the Senior Front-end Developer:

This is an opportunity for an experienced developer to join our team, specialising in design focused development. Your job will be to build ground-breaking online platform front and back ends, as well as exploring other technologies in the team. Some specific duties will include:

  • Working with our clients to understand their technical plans and challenges
  • Working closely with our designers and UX experts to design elegant, technical solutions for user experience challenges provided by our clients
  • Production and prototype front-end development, using HTML, CSS, Vanilla JS, AngularJS & Angular, React and related technologies for our clients - large and small, including one of the biggest international grocery stores’ online store, as well as charities and non-profit organisations
  • Potential for back-end work and Proof of concepts, whether that's with Node or other modern technologies
  • Regularly reviewing code of fellow colleagues and working together on client challenges
  • Mentoring junior team members and regularly taking a lead role on projects
  • Regular client and team meetings to explore opportunities

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' front-end experience
  • A diligent working mindset 💪
  • Consulting experience with your clients
  • Strong skills and experience in building responsive websites and web applications across desktop, tablet and mobile
  • Strong interest in JavaScript and front-end technologies, and what can be done
  • Experience with: Git, JavaScript - with and without frameworks, CSS preprocessors, build tools (like Grunt, Webpack, etc)
  • Familiar with Agile development principles and methodologies (we use Jira, Trello and others)
  • Familiar team code practices, like pull requests, code reviews (we use GitHub)

Bonus

  • Knowledge using Amazon Web Services (preferably EC2, S3, Lambda)
  • Server deployment experience (Ansible, Docker)
  • Experience with CI / CD
  • Experience with Databases / Data stores (SQL, NoSQL, Key-value stores)
  • A GitHub (or similar) profile link - to help us get a feel for your style, interests and more
