As a Senior Motion Designer at This Place, you’ll work within our creative team to concept and deliver a variety of innovative digital experiences. You’ll become part of a growing multidisciplinary team of creatives, strategists and developers. You’ll contribute in a range areas:

  • Product Design: Designing and demonstrating the micro-interactions of any given UI, and blurring the lines between platform and content
  • Storytelling: Creating compelling narratives that demonstrate the value of our work
  • Innovation: Ideating and concepting around potential applications of future technologies such as AR and VR


  • Helping to define and implement motion design languages for a range of digital products and services
  • Animating creative concepts and applying motion design expertise across projects, using motion to support business objectives, enhance interactivity, and create better customer experiences
  • Providing and maintaining a high quality of output for our clients and in-house teams
  • Driving the execution of creative directly with business owners and delivering to deadlines in a self-directed manner
  • Assist in the development of best practices and standards at This Place for Motion Design


  • 6 years professional experience in an agency or enterprise studio environment
  • Expertise in UI animation, storyboarding, motion graphics and 3D animation
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of motion in product design
  • Mastery of your toolset (e.g: After Effects + other Adobe tools, Final Cut Pro, Cinema 4D)
  • Proficiency in UI prototyping tools (e.g: InVision and Principle)
  • Experience working with Unity, and live film capture are pluses
  • Works equally well independently, or as part of a collaborative team
  • Must be able to speak thoughtfully about design, and clearly articulate concepts and design decisions
  • Located within commuting distance of Seattle, WA (or willing to relocate)
  • Ability to travel if and when required
